Ir. Andros Chan is a graduate of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and holds a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in United Kingdoms in 1989. He also holds a MBA degree from Bradford University in United Kingdoms in 1990. He is a corporate member of both Engineering Council in United Kingdoms since 1993 and Hong Kong Institute of Engineers (HKIE) since 1996 and nominated as Fellow of HKIE since 2009. He is doing a DBA degree in Macquarie Graduate School of Management from Australia. His research area is the intergenerational succession planning of Chinese family business in Hong Kong.

Ir. Andros Chan was the committee member (2003-2005), Vice-Chairman (2005-2006) and Chairman (2006-2007) and Past Chairman (2007-2008) of the Executive Committee of Bio-medical Division and the Council Member (2008-2010) of Hong Kong HKIE. Currently, he is the Council Member of the HKIE (2008-2010).

He is the Vice-Chairman (2009-2010) and Secretary General (2003-2008) of Hong Kong Medical and Healthcare Devices Industries Association.

Ir Andros Chan is the Industry Representative of the Asian Harmonization Working Party (2007-2010).

He starts his own business in 2002, focuses on Product Development Management and trading business of medical disposable products. He established Pharos Medical Device Ltd in 2005 to manufacture medical devices, which comply with Food and Drug Administration’s regulation of USA (FDA) and Medical Device Directives of European Union. The site also certified by TUV to comply ISO13485 and certified by the State Food & Drug Administration as Medical Device Manufacturer in 2006.

Before start his own business, he worked for Multi-national Corporation and local petrochemical companies and as management consultant and specialized in Total Quality Management and strategy
